The Department of Zoology strives for a good physical and psychosocial work environment (see SUs work environment policy, in Swedish). Through evaluation of working conditions, risk assessment, and execution of directed measures, the Department of Zoology systematically works with issues of work environment.

The department head is responsible for the working environment, though this responsibility can be delegated to other appropriate persons. For the Department of Zoology this responsibility has been delegated to the local managers (Platschefer) listed below:
