Welcome to a seminar by Antoniya Hubancheva, a PhD student at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Max Planck Institute for Ornithology.
Abstract:
Sensory processes are at the center of an animal’s perception of the environment and its actions in this environment, including some of the most crucial behaviours for survival such as foraging and predator avoidance. Accordingly, natural selection has not only shaped the morphology of animals, but also their sensory and behavioural properties. In this talk, I will discuss some of the sensory and behavioral mechanisms shaping the predator-prey interactions in the arms race between eavesdropping bats and bushcrickets.
